A Look at the Research Paper Styles
There are several different research paper styles. You will likely come into contact with most, if not all, of them during the course of your academic career. After all, you are going to be writing quite a lot of essays and research papers. First of all, there is the APA writing style. APA stands for American Psychological Association. For instance, in research papers that use the MLA style, when you number your page, your last name has to go beside it. There is a specific format necessary for your bibliography page, and your cover page has to be set up just so. With APA research papers, the in text citations are set up differently than in MLA, and when you number your pages, you put the title of the paper beside the number, rather than your last name.
The very reason it is important to be familiar with all the different research paper styles is because they are so different. Knowing the differences down to the smallest details can help you from making mistakes during the research paper editing process. Furthermore, you will be far less likely to mess up during the research paper writing period – that is, you will not screw up your in text citations or quote anything incorrectly.
